10 Benefits of Apple Cider Vinegar

The first time I actually came across Apple cider vinegar was when I was trying to get rid of my acne scars. And I couldn’t believe that a product that you can buy at your local convenience store could actually help against acne scars, but it did.

You do have to be careful with AVC on your skin because it is quite harsh and you ALWAYS need to dilute it with water.

Now let’s get into the other benefits:

  • It helps in controlling the blood sugar level
  • It is anti-bacterial and prevents infection
  • It may aid in weight loss by changing the way the gut bacteria processes the fats
  • It helps in the reduction of blood pressure
  • It reduces the high cholesterol level
  • It helps in regulating body PH
  • It is supposed to help in detoxification of the body
  • It improves cardiovascular health
  • It is supposed to prevent cancer
  • It helps in getting a clear skin

How Does Apple Cider Work For Weight Loss?

Why is apple cider vinegar so effective when it comes to weight loss? Well, that is because it contains something called, Acetic acid. Acetic acid affects your blood glucose dramatically. There actually has been a study where a group of people was divided into 3 groups, pre-diabetic, diabetic, and healthy people.

They all took 1 ounce of apple cider vinegar after having a high carbohydrate meal and the results were crazy. They all saw a reduction in blood glucose, but the pre-diabetic had a decrease in blood glucose of 50 % and the diabetic had a decrease of 25 %. All of this just through taking a little bit of AVC.

So by kickstarting your day with AVC you’re setting the pace and making sure that your body is metabolizing carbohydrates better.

1. After An Cheat meal

When you just had an amazing cheat meal you obviously went crazy on carbs, fats, and calories. Well, you know from this article that AVC lowers blood sugar levels so you can control the impact and have a negative response.

Apple cider vinegar does NOT break your fast! A study was published by the journal of agriculture and food chemistry that stated that if you take acetic acid when fasted state it upregulates a receptor protein called PPARalpha.

PPARalpha is a receptor protein that usually gets activated when fasting cause you’re liberating fatty acids into the bloodstream so it gets activated. Well, it now shows us that apple cider vinegar makes it so that you have even more of that! 

PPARalpha allows our body to create or release more uncoupling proteins which turn white fat into brown fat, which means our body turns into a fat incinerator. It burns more heat, it burns more calories.

Intermittent Fasting Approved AVC Drink

When you’re fasting (which is AMAZING for weight loss) everything that poses a problem has to do with minerals. That is why I created this AVC drink that doesn’t break a fast and helps balance out your minerals and helps maintain the minerals in your body.

The Ingredients:

  • Water
  • Apple cider vinegar
  • Pink Himalayan Salt
  • Lime Juice
  • Cream of tartar

Instructions:

Step 1:

Let’s start off by mixing 1 or 2 tablespoons of AVC with 12 ounces of water. Above we have discussed all the amazing benefits of AVC, so if you have read that I suggest you go and do that first.

Step 2:

Then we add a quarter of a teaspoon of cream of tartar. The cream of tartar is SUPER high in potassium, and it has no insulin response so it is not going to break your fast. 1 teaspoon has over 495 milligrams of potassium.

I can hear you thinking, do I really need this much potassium? Well, when you’re fasting you burn through it really fast. And when you’re low on potassium or magnesium you can end up feeling very very weak. 

Step 3:

Next, we add the pink Himalayan salt. The main reason we are using pink Himalayan salt is because of the sodium. Again, when we’re fasting we’re burning through minerals really fast. So sodium is critical.

Step 4:

Lastly, were going to add the juice of 1 whole lime. The reason we’re using limes is, that it simply contains a high number of limonoids. Another study by the journal of agriculture and food chemistry shows that limonoids increased levels of Glutathione S-Transferase in the body. All this means is that is it stimulates the production of Glutathione. Glutathione in the body is our body’s inherent to detox.

The morning Kickstarter is GREAT for helping your metabolism wake up. This apple cider vinegar recipe for weight loss will help you digest your carbohydrates better and the additional ingredients will aid in that process with their individual benefits.

The Morning Kickstarter

The Ingredients:
  • 2 tbsp of AVC
  • quarter tsp of cayenne pepper ( helps metabolism)
  • Half a tsp of Ground ginger ( digestive support)
  • quarter tsp of Cinnamon
  • Lime or lemon, I prefer Lime (elevates liver enzymes)
  • 10-12 ounces of water

The Ingredients:

  • Muddled up strawberries (low glycemic)
  • Lime or Lemon
  • 2 tbsp of AVC
  • 8-10 fluid ounces of water
  • Honey or stevia (optional)

This apple cider vinegar recipe for weight loss can kind of work like an after-dinner dessert 🙂 Just don’t go overboard with the honey or different kind of sweeteners. Because you don’t want a massive insulin spike.
